ho letto l'articolo,ma non sono riuscita a vedere la data della scoperta,
dall'Egitto mi è stato portato un papiro raffigurante un
gatto nero ,bellissimo,in posizione da Sfinge,
e' certamente la rappesentazione di un Dio Egizio,
ma c'erano talmente tanti dei in sembianze di Gatto !!
Bastet era una figura femminile,il mio papiro
sembrerebbe un maschietto!

Da quello che ho scoperto navigando qua e là,i gatti non erano semplici animali da compagnia, ma i rappresentanti sulla terra della dea gatta Bastet (femminile), divinità protettrice della fertilità e delle gioie terrene (la danza, la musica e la sessualità) e dea della salute.
C'erano però anche altre rappresentazioni divine...una , molto antica, raffigurava il dio del Sole (Ra) con le sembianze di un gatto (maschio)...magari il papiro che hai si riferisce a quello!

credo che il tuo papiro in realtà rappresentasse proprio bastet..
il dio ra assume diverse sembianze quella in gatto è solamente quando combattè e sconfisse anophi (il serpente),infatti se compare un serpente è ra trasformato altrimenti è bastet rappresentata

Bellissimo.. Quando ci sono stata mi sono portata una statuetta (tipo quella in fotografia - roba da turisti) ma mi piaceva troppo.. E un papiro raffigurante la dea bastet..
Mi ricordava troppo la mia precedente micia....
