provato IE con le impostazioni std e da problemi ma navigo...preferisco firefox, cmq!

Quello che volevo dire è che molto probabilmente il problema è (era) dovuto al banner e ad un particolare settaggio di IE. Se quest'ultimo era ad un elevato grado di protezione, il banner dava problemi.
Oggi, che il banner non è più lo stesso, il problema è sparito.

Si, me ne sono accorto poi e vedo che il problema c'è quando compare quel banner multimarca che citavo ed in un altro caso.

anch'io ho avuto per alcuni giorni questo problema con IE. Esattamente come Gattosky. Eventualmente come si fa ad utilizzare un altro browser, tipo Firefox, nel caso dovesse ripresentarsi?

Se hai già un altro browser installato nel pc (ad esempio Mozilla Firefox, il più comune dopo IE), lo avvii normalmente, dal desktop oppure dalla barra in fondo allo schermo o ancora dal menu dei programmi. A questo punto navighi come fai con IE. Tieni presente che Mozilla ti può caricare già tutti i preferiti di IE, che lui chiama segnalibri.
Se invece non hai altri browser oltre IE, vai sul sito di Mozilla, lo scarichi (è gratuito) e lo installi, poi fai come al punto precedente.
Tieni presente che non c'è incompatibilità tra i diversi browser, nel senso che puoi averne installati più d'uno nel pc senza problemi.
